Privacy Policy and Cookies

The Probus Club of Poole (“the Club”) takes the privacy of its members seriously.  This Privacy Policy document contains details of the information the Club collects and how that information is used.

Personal information which you supply to the Club will be used for the following purposes:

  • To create an individual member record for the purpose of managing the Club and enabling contact and communication with members in respect of Club events and activities.

 

  • Members’ contact details will be held securely in a database (MS Word document and / MS Excel spreadsheet, in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018, accessible by the Club’s Committee.

 

  • Members receive a printed booklet containing a list of members’ names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses and photographs to facilitate inter member contact. Member’s may opt out of all or part of this arrangement by notifying the Secretary accordingly.

 

  • The Club will only share contact information with third parties for the purpose of the relevant Club committee member providing contact with other Probus organisations to which it is affiliated.  In addition members' names may be provided to third parties (e.g. hotel or restaurant) for the purposes of managing lunch and dinner arrangements (including table plans, place cards and dietary requirements). 

 

  • The membership data will not be provided to any other third-party organisations or used to forward advertising from third parties.

 

  • All emails sent to multiple Club members will be sent so the recipients’ emails are not visible (Bcc or other methods).
     

All new and existing members will be required to provide consent to the Club for the collection and processing of this information, for the purposes outlined above, having read and understood this policy, via the Membership Application form, on joining the Club or as subsequently confirmed to the Secretary as and when required by the Club.
 

Members may ask to review their personal data retained by the Club and have it corrected if it is inaccurate. The Club’s Committee undertake to comply with these requests within 30 days.
 

Members have the right to ask that the Club, remove their information on ceasing to be a member of the Club by contacting the Secretary via email using the form available here

 

Use of Cookies on the Club’s Website

The Club’s website is hosted by Wix which uses cookies to enable the proper functioning and security of the Club’s website. The types of cookies and trackers used are set out below.
